What should be considered when preparing a plan?

The most important thing about producing a Neighbourhood Plan is the initial and ongoing consultation and engagement with residents, businesses, landowners and local groups in the area covered by the Neighbourhood Plan.

A Neighbourhood Plan must also consider existing planning policy:

District Council's local development plan

A Neighbourhood Plan must be generally aligned to the strategic policies set out in the Local Plan.

National planning policy

A Neighbourhood Plan must also take into account national planning policy.
