Public speakers have the option to address Planning Committee meetings either in person or virtually, using Zoom. Those who register for public speaking will be provided with details of how to connect to the relevant meeting. Those wishing to watch the meeting can do so via our YouTube Channel.
Please contact our Customer Services Team if you have any queries regarding the completion of the form.
Registration may take place on the day that the reports for the scheduled meeting are published on our website, until 5.00pm on the day prior to the scheduled meeting.
Those wishing to speak at a Planning Committee meeting must register prior to the meeting, in accordance with the requirements of our constitution.
Interested parties permitted to speak on an application are a representative of town/parish council or parish meeting, the applicant or representative, an objector, and the relevant ward members.
Interested parties will be given a maximum of three minutes to speak. The intention is that only one person may speak from each of the above parties. However, if more than one person wishes to speak on behalf of the same party, they will need to either nominate a single spokesperson or split the three minute period between each speaker.
Speakers who wish to display photographs, diagrams and other information during their three minutes need to submit such information at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. These should be emailed with the application reference number and an explanation that you wish them to be displayed during the three minute speaking period. They should be emailed to our planning support team and copied to the case officer.
The Planning Committee members have the opportunity to ask questions of those that have spoken.
The reports for the Strategic Planning Committee, Planning Committee North and Planning Committee South are published on our committee reports system, at least five clear working days prior to the relevant meeting.
