Planning policy and local plans

A new Historic Environment Supplementary Planning Document is being prepared. What information should be included and how should it be presented? Find out more and give your views.

There are two parts to the Local Plan in East Suffolk; the Suffolk Coastal Local Plan and the Waveney Local Plan.

In addition, the Broads Authority Local Plan covers the Broads Authority area in the north of the District. This is produced by the Broads Authority.

The Local Plan sets out how the area should be developed, and contains policies which the Council will use when making decisions on planning applications. Neighbourhood Plans, once made, also form part of the development plan.

Development is also guided by theĀ National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) which is supplemented by Planning Practice Guidance.
