The East Suffolk Council - Suffolk Coastal Local Plan was adopted on 23rd September 2020. It applies to the part of East Suffolk formerly covered by the Suffolk Coastal district.
The Adoption Statement sets out where the Local Plan and other adoption documents can be inspected and provides details for anyone aggrieved by the adoption of the Local Plan to make an application to the High Court.
The Local Plan sets out the level of growth which needs to be planned in the area and identifies where that growth should be located and how it should be delivered. The Local Plan sets out the planning policies which the Council will use to determine planning applications in the Suffolk Coastal area. The Suffolk Coastal Local Plan covers the period 2018-2036.
Ongoing joint working in relation to cross-boundary matters takes place through the Ipswich Strategic Planning Area Board.
The Local Development Scheme sets out the timetable for the Local Plan preparation.
The Statement of Community Involvement sets out how and when people can have their say on planning policies and planning applications. In light of current social distancing restrictions as the result of Covid-19, certain elements of the Statement of Community Involvement have been temporarily suspended.
