The Constitution sets out how we operate, how decisions are made and the procedures which are followed to ensure that these are efficient, transparent and accountable to local people. Some of these processes are required by the law, while others are a matter for the council to choose.
From 25 January 2024, East Suffolk Council’s Constitution comprises three documents (Constitution Part A, Constitution Part B and the Constitution Appendices – Part C). Constitution Part A and Constitution Part C supersedes those sections of Constitution Part B which have been scored out. Sections of Constitution Part B which have not been scored out are still in force.
