Field to Fork grant scheme

Field to Fork 2025 (F2F) has returned bigger than ever! Our Grow Your Own Kits include more seeds and equipment than ever before, designed to give our local families the best chance of fresh produce on their windowsill this year.

Funded by East Suffolk Council, the UK Government's Shared Prosperity Fund and the Framlingham/Wickham Market and Villages Community Partnership, 1,750 kits are available to families across the entire length of the district. Our fantastic primary school partners are supporting this work through distribution events in the first few months of the year, preparing for the warmer weather and the green shoots of new produce.

The story so far in numbers

This is the third year of Field to Fork, with better outcomes each year. For example:

• Over £138,000 worth of produce grown by F2F families in 2024.
• Over 23 tonnes of carbon dioxide saved – the equivalent of driving twice round the equator!
• 86% of people said their wellbeing improved by participating.
• Over £38,000 of small grants have been allocated to spaces in the district where community growing can take place, leaving a lasting legacy in communities.

As 2025 develops, updates will be added here and on our social media channels. We will be celebrating the best the project has to offer and the successes of our residents as the year progresses.

High School students contribute artwork for our recycled cotton bags!

Field to Fork kits always come in a recycled cotton tote bag, ideal for long term reuse. 7 students from 139 applications were selected as winners of our inaugural Field to Fork artwork competition, with their designs added to our bags for distribution. Students at Kesgrave High School created incredible artwork and all applicants received a thank you letter from the Communities team for their efforts.

Community growing - there’s space for you to grow!

Our local growing spaces are spread across the district and run by incredible volunteers all year round. They are always looking for new faces to come along and benefit from the activities they are producing. Throughout the year there is plenty of work to be done and space for contributing as much or as little as you would like. Check out the map below for your nearest site and their contact details.

Water companies splash on to the scene in 2025

Anglian Water and Essex & Suffolk Water have collaborated to contribute to this years activity book, making sure that water saving is considered by our new growers. Anglian Water have also provided water saving items including shower heads and bath buoys that will be available at our collection events.

Royal Horticultural Society join Field to Fork!

We are excited to be partnering with the Royal Horticultural Society for Field to Fork this year, with their community team offering advice and access to their incredible resources to us and our growers. Information can be found about key topics for novice to advanced growers across the district. The Royal Horticultural Society YouTube channel hosts an ever increasing range of videos and topics.

RHS Community Gardening Survey 

Now is the time to shout about what is already happening in our district. The RHS community gardening survey allows just that. Follow this link to take you to it and report how you’re doing and what you need help with. Deadline is 31 March.

Activity books launch for the first time

We want Field to Fork to engage children throughout the year. Our new activity books, supported by our partners, provide information, guides and fun activities for primary school age children.

Food Savvy recipes

Food Savvy Suffolk and East Suffolk Council's Waste and Recycling Team have kindly provided some items for our starter kits this year, along with some handy recipe cards. Each recipe is designed to be easy to make, cheap to produce and delicious!
