The Statement of Community Involvement sets out how and when people can have their say on planning policies and planning applications. The Consultation Statement includes a summary of the comments received during the consultation on the Statement of Community Involvement and the Council's response. The Adoption Statement gives an overview of the process and reasons for adopting the Statement of Community Involvement.
The previous Statement of Community Involvement for the former Suffolk Coastal area was used in the preparation of the Suffolk Coastal Local Plan. The previous Statement of Community Involvement for the former Waveney area was used in the preparation of the Waveney Local Plan. In light of social distancing restrictions, as the result of Covid-19, it was not possible to fulfil certain requirements of the former Statements of Community Involvement. Elements of the Statements of Community Involvement were therefore temporarily suspended, however these suspensions do not apply to the new Statement of Community Involvement.
As restrictions related to the Covid-19 pandemic ease, the council has been able to amend its approach to viewing documents – further details about the availability of planning policy documents.
Further detail can be found on our Covid-19 Planning and Building Control updates page.
