Mobile home winter rebate

Park home residents are now eligible to apply for a £150 annual rebate on energy bills to those in or at risk of fuel poverty in Great Britain.

Up until now most people living in park homes did not qualify for Warm Home Discount (WHD) rebates because their energy suppliers' contract is often with the site owner, not the individual residents.

This has now changed following a successful pilot scheme in 2015-16, developed by Ofgem E-Serve, energy suppliers and Charis Grants.

Eligibility

As the Park Homes Warm Home Discount scheme is designed to support vulnerable consumers, recipients must meet one of the eligibility criteria set out below.

To qualify for a payment, park home residents are required to meet one of the following criteria, in addition to paying council tax at the property:

  • Pension Credit
  • Income-related Employment & Support Allowance
  • Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Income Support
  • Universal Credit showing an earned income between £0 and £1,665 a month
  • Child Tax Credit by virtue of an award based on an annual income not exceeding £19,978
  • Working Tax Credit by virtue of an award based on an annual income not exceeding £19,978
  • Housing Benefit (or Housing element if receiving Universal Credit)

Or:

The Total Gross annual household income across everyone living in your household is below £19,978 (before tax and deductions).

How to apply for the rebate

You can apply online or by calling the Charis support team on 01733 797543.

If successful a payment of £150 will be made directly into your bank/building society account by 31 March 2025.
