Year 1 of a three-year project reviewing the Article 4 Directions currently in place on East Suffolk Council’s Conservation Area. The Year 1 review covers: Southwold, Marlesford, Wangford, Homersfield and Walberswick Quay.

Marlesford

The public consultation period ran from 15 July to 2 September. Following a number of objections to the proposal for a new Article 4 direction in Marlesford, Strategic Planning Committee decided not to confirm the Article 4 direction. Documents for the meeting can be viewed in the meeting details.

Southwold, Wangford, Homersfield and Walberswick Quay

The public consultation period ran from 15 July to 26 August. Strategic Planning Committee reviewed the responses and on 7 October 2024 confirmed the new Article 4 directions in Southwold, Homersfield, Wangford and Walberswick. Copies of the new directions can be found on our Article 4 direction page.
