Suffolk Coastal is looking for a new Councillor to represent the people of Leiston.
We were saddened to learn of the passing of Daphne Mellor, a former Waveney councillor and the district’s first ever female Chair.
As a result of its Member Development Programme and excellent support to councillors, Waveney District Council has once again retained the coveted 'gold standard' Charter Plus Award for Elected Member Development.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Cllr Colin Law takes place this Friday, in Lowestoft.
The service will take place on Friday 9 June at 12.30pm, at Christ Church, Whapload Road Lowestoft NR32 1XE.
Suffolk Coastal District Council’s new Chairman is Councillor Chris Blundell.
On an emotional evening in Lowestoft, Cllr Mark Bee has been elected Leader of Waveney District council at the authority’s Annual Council Meeting.
Cllr Colin Law is to step down as Leader of Waveney District Council and has issued a statement today reflecting on his six years in the role.
He will remain in post until a new Leader is elected and that decision will be formally ratified at the next full Council meeting, which will take place on May 17th.
Cllr Law said:
Suffolk Coastal District Council and Waveney District Councils take pride in the quality of service its elected Members provide.
