Anti-social behaviour Public Space Protection Orders

Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPOs) are a legal means of controlling activities that cause concern in communities.

Controlling anti-social drinking in public places

Drinking alcohol within the restricted area of a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is prohibited.

To continue to consume anything believed to be alcohol when asked not to by a constable or authorised person or failure to surrender anything believed to be alcohol to a constable or authorised person is an offence and can result in a fixed penalty notice of £100 or a maximum fine of £1000 on conviction.
