A hate incident is defined as any incident which may or may not constitute a criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or anyone else as being motivated by prejudice or hate.
Hate crimes and hate incidents can take many forms such as physical abuse, verbal abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, sexual abuse and financial abuse.
If you, or someone you know have been a victim of hate crime and you want to report it, contact Suffolk Police or call them on 101. Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
In an emergency, or if you or someone else is in immediate danger, you should always call 999.
