A Deed of Obligation is a legally binding agreement that outlines specific commitments and responsibilities for parties involved in a project.
On the 8 October 2021, East Suffolk Council, Suffolk County Council and NNB Generation Company (SZC) Limited entered into a Deed of Obligation (DoO) pursuant to section 1 of the Localism Act 2011 and section 111 of the Local government Act 1972. The DoO related to all aspects of the Sizewell C project, however since the signing of the DoO, two Deed of Variations have been signed (13 April 2022 and 6 May 2022) which amend specific aspects of the original Deed.
