Festival-style market to take place in Halesworth in September

Posted by on 9 August 2022 | Comments

The 'Heart of Halesworth' market in Halesworth on Saturday 3 September (10am – 2pm) will be a family-orientated, celebratory event.

Located along The Thoroughfare to the Market Place, the event will include live music and dance, street performers and a town trail as well as a whole host of family activities – all of which will celebrate Halesworth’s truly independent high street.

Heart of Halesworth follows the successful other markets held in Saxmundham, Beccles, Leiston and Lowestoft earlier this year and are part of the Market Place project run by First Light Festival Community Interest Company, funded through East Suffolk Council and the Suffolk Growth Partnership.

The aim of the project is to deliver a number of mini festival-style markets to attract local as well as out-of-season visitors to East Suffolk towns.

In addition to the events, First Light also delivered a consultancy package of support to another four East Suffolk towns on best practice for event development. Bungay, Felixstowe, Framlingham and Lowestoft all received a masterclass on place-making with Wayne Hemingway, First Light C.I.C. Director and co-founder of HemingwayDesign Design Studio.
