Have your say on Neighbourhood Plans

Posted by on 11 April 2022 | Comments

Bungay and Rushmere St Andrew residents are invited to comment on their local Neighbourhood Plan, ahead of them being submitted for independent examination.

Bungay Town Council and Rushmere St Andrew Parish Council have each submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to East Suffolk Council, with the Bungay Neighbourhood Plan also being submitted to the Broads Authority. This is ahead of the neighbourhood plans undergoing an independent examination.

East Suffolk Council is publicising the plans and inviting representations, which will be forwarded to the examiners for consideration alongside the plans. Subject to the plans successfully completing all the relevant regulatory stages, the policies and proposals contained in the plans will be used by East Suffolk Council, and the Broads Authority for the Bungay plan, in the determination of planning applications within the Bungay and Rushmere St Andrew Neighbourhood Areas.

Cllr David Ritchie, East Suffolk’s cabinet member for Planning and Coastal Management said: “Neighbourhood planning enables local communities to get directly involved with shaping the areas in which they live and work. I would encourage those living in these areas to view their respective plan and submit their comments.”

Copies of the Neighbourhood Plans and supporting documents are available to view at www.eastsuffolk.gov.uk/neighbourhoodplanning

All representations will be made available to view online as soon as possible after the close of the consultation.

This consultation is now closed.
