East Suffolk is one of the largest and most diverse districts in England. A coastal district boasting a wealth of significant landscape, heritage and ecological environments.

East Suffolk Council are committed to protecting and enhancing these environments for the communities they serve.

This section of the website provides access to information and resources relating to the topics highlighted above. These pages will be updated and refreshed to communicate changes and updates across the district.

Specialist Services are a professional team within East Suffolk Council tasked to promote, conserve and protect the various disciplines highlighted above. The team comprises of 13 officers across the following disciplines, Design and Conservation, Landscape and Arboriculture, Rights of Way and Ecology. The team sit within the Planning Service acting as internal consultees as part of the planning process, but also engage wider in the council around their specialist professions. Believed to be one of the largest specialist teams in a Local Authority, this demonstrates East Suffolk Councils commitment to the built, natural and historic environments.
