If you have already reported ongoing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) to either the Police, your District/Borough Council or your housing provider and you feel that no action has been taken to resolve it, you can request an Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review and ask us to request a review of your case.
The Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB), Crime and Policing Act 2014 introduced the ASB Case Review, which is designed to give victims of ongoing Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) the right to request a review of their case and bring agencies together to take a joined up, problem solving approach to find a solution.
The relevant bodies and responsible authorities who undertake the case review are:
The relevant bodies must publish the Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review procedure to ensure that victims are aware that they can apply to activate the procedures in appropriate circumstances. The information should be provided on the websites of all the relevant bodies, signposting the public to the lead agency’s website, a point of contact and the procedures for activating the process.
An application may either come directly from the victims of anti-social behaviour or from a third party (with the victim’s consent), such as a family member, friend or local elected representative (a councillor or MP).
The victim may be an individual, a business or a community group.
The Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review can be used if you have complained to East Suffolk Council, Suffolk police and/or your housing provider
and;
This is called the threshold. If the threshold is not met the ASB Case Review will not take place.
You have the right to request a review of your case if you have complained to East Suffolk Council, Suffolk police or your housing provider and you feel that no effective action has been taken to resolve it.
The Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Case Review is not an alternative complaints procedure and will not review concerns about service provision. Service complaints should be directed to East Suffolk Council /Suffolk Police/your Housing provider complaints procedure.

Suffolk Anti-social behaviour case review model
Once you have requested an anti-social behaviour case review, a named single point of contact from our Communities Team will carry out the first line of enquiry.
The Communities Team, including Suffolk Police, will ask other partner agencies to provide details of your complaints and actions that they have taken or considered. You will be contacted by your named single point of contact following this initial enquiry with their initial findings.
Following the initial enquiries, if further investigation is needed, a meeting will take place between the agencies which make up the Anti-Social Behaviour Case Review Panel. Members of the panel include housing teams, Suffolk Police, registered social landlords and other relevant agencies. The agencies will discuss what actions have been considered and taken.
The group will review how the partners have responded and make recommendations on how the problem can be resolved.
A response will be sent to you on behalf of the panel detailing action taken and also suggestions on how the partners can attempt to resolve the anti-social behaviour.
Suffolk County Council have produced a flowchart within the guidance of the anti-social behaviour case review process which is not accessible to screen readers, so if you need help to understand the contents please contact us.
