Adult Social Care (ASC)

There is an additional Council Tax flexibility on top of the core principle for local authorities with responsibility for adult social care, this is known as the ‘Adult Social Care precept’. This means ASC authorities can increase their council tax by up to 2% on top of the 3% core principle. The referendum principles do not apply separately to the core referendum principle and the Adult Social Care precept. They only apply to the combined council tax flexibility.
