If your home becomes unsuitable for you or a member of your family because of disability, the council can help.

Some repairs to tenants' homes will only be undertaken if paid for in advance by the tenant.

Emergency repairs are generally those that pose a risk to the health and safety of those people within the property, or risk to the property itself.

There are some repairs that the council are unable to undertake on behalf of tenants and, as such, tenants themselves would be responsible should they wish these to be undertaken.

The council insures its council dwellings and in the case of fire, flood, or structural damage the council would claim on its insurance for the cost of repairing the property.
