Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh

Posted by on 9 April 2021 | Comments

The Councillors and Officers of East Suffolk Council are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this time.

The Chairman of East Suffolk Council, Cllr Keith Robinson, said: “On behalf of East Suffolk Council, our residents and communities, I would like to express our deep sadness following the passing of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts at this sad time are with Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family.

“We will of course ensure that the people of East Suffolk are provided with the information they need to pay their respects to the Duke of Edinburgh and his life of service to the country and to the world.”

As a mark of respect, the flags at our council offices will be flown at half-mast from today (9 April 2021). An online Book of Condolence has been placed at www.suffolk.gov.uk/condolences and further information will be provided in due course on this website.
