Book your place for an evening with Ned Boulting

Tickets are now on sale for a special event with acclaimed sports broadcaster Ned Boulting, ahead of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men arriving in East Suffolk.

Sports broadcaster, author, and cycling enthusiast Ned Boulting will be speaking at the Seckford Theatre in Woodbridge on Sunday 31 August, exploring the fascinating intersections of history, sport, and media.

From the dusty roads of the 1923 Tour de France to the high-tech spectacle of today’s races, Ned brings his signature wit and insight to stories that span a century of cycling. He will be joined by special guests for a rich and varied programme celebrating cycling, mental health, and community.

Cllr Seamus Bennett, East Suffolk Council’s assistant cabinet member said: “This is an excellent opportunity to hear from one of the cycling world’s most respected broadcasters and learn more about his exciting career, the history of the Tour de France and stories from the Tour of Britain, as well as insights into who to watch out for in this year's race. We are looking forward to welcoming Ned to East Suffolk as part of the build-up to the Tour of Britain Men a few days later.”

Tickets for the event are available now.

A raffle will also be held at the event, raising funds for Suffolk Mind. Doors open at 6pm.

Organised by East Suffolk Council, the event precedes the arrival of the Lloyds Tour of Britain Men, which will depart from Woodbridge on Tuesday 2 September at 11am, racing 161.4km (100.4miles) through the district to Southwold.

Also taking place on Sunday 31 August is the East Suffolk sportive, Pedal and Picnic in Woodbridge. Open to cyclists of all abilities, entrants can choose from either a 50km or 100km route and a portion of the entry fee will be donated to local mental health charity and proud partner of this event, Suffolk Mind.

For those who would like to get involved but not cycle, there will be family activities at Kingston Field. Bring your friends and family along for a relaxing day out, with a picnic on the grass, free access to the tennis and pickleball courts, games for all ages and a family fun ride.

Find out more and book your place on the sportive.
