Residents in Wickham Market are invited to a free event to learn more about making space for hedgehogs and frogs in their gardens.
Organised by the Framlingham, Wickham Market, Kelsale, Yoxford and villages Community Partnership, the second Wild About Wickham event called ‘Hogs, Frogs and Logs’, takes place on Saturday 27 April at Wickham Market Village Hall (12-4pm). Residents are encouraged to come along and find out more about increasing biodiversity in their own gardens, and across the village.
Suffolk Wildlife Trust will be present at the event, talking about creating hedgehog friendly gardens and how to encourage frogs and other amphibians. Also present will be Transition Woodbridge who will be speaking about wildlife gardening and growing your own food.
Sam Kenward from East Suffolk Council’s Communities Team said: “This is the second Wild About Wickham event to take place, following the successful launch of the scheme earlier this year. ‘Hogs, Frogs and Logs’ is free to attend and open to everyone who is keen to make a space for nature in their garden or outside space.
“If your parish is in the Framlingham, Wickham Market, Kelsale, Yoxford and villages Community Partnership area and you are interested in running a ‘Wild About’ event or activity, please get in touch.”
Creative activities for children and refreshments will also be available.
