Essential work to repair the promenade at North Denes in Lowestoft is now underway.
Coastal Partnership East, on behalf of East Suffolk Council, have contracted Roadtechs to complete repairs to the promenade at North Denes, with work starting this week.
The first phase of this work will be complete before the Easter holidays, with the second phase completed before the summer.
Heavy machinery will travel along the promenade at the beginning and end of each day and for public safety, sections of the promenade will be closed at times and any diversions for pedestrians will be clearly signposted.
Cllr Kay Yule, East Suffolk’s cabinet member for Planning and Coastal Management said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused however regular maintenance of our coastal protection assets is vital for improving their lifespan and increase public safety, helping to protect residents and our beautiful coastline as much as possible.”
Work is subject to weather and tides.
