Parking changes at Undercliff Road East

Posted by on 27 June 2025 | Comments

Work to improve safety and provide more parking opportunities in Felixstowe begins shortly and to enable this work to take place, temporary parking restrictions on Undercliff Road East come into force from Monday 30 June.

East Suffolk Council has commissioned Suffolk Highways to implement an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order, to be operational from 7 July 2025 and run over the summer season. The order includes the creation of ‘cars only’ parking bays along both sides of Undercliff Road East which will not have a time limit to enable longer stays.

There will also be dedicated parking bays for disabled badge holders. These bays will have a three-hour time limit to ensure they can be used by all those who need them. Additionally, there will be new designated motorcycle parking bays, and double yellow lines will be painted on junctions to improve safety and visibility.

To accommodate larger vehicles such as campervans and motorhomes, alternative parking is available at Manor Terrace, Garrison Lane and Golf Road.

Following further consideration, it has been decided that Landguard is not suitable as an alternative site for larger vehicles however additional locations are currently being considered.
