Representatives from community groups across Suffolk are being invited to attend a free environmental action networking event happening next month.
The Suffolk Climate Action Partnership is hosting the Sustainable Communities Action Day on Saturday 8 November to bring together community representatives to learn and share knowledge and explore new ideas on sustainability.
Running from 9.30am to 3.30pm at Kesgrave Community and Conference Centre, attendees will hear from morning speakers followed by a great choice of afternoon workshops, exploring topics including biodiversity, water and rivers, community energy, and energy efficiency in older buildings.
Cllr Rachel Smith-Lyte, East Suffolk’s assistant cabinet member for the Environment said: “It’s fantastic to see so many local organisations such as Deben Climate Centre, Hadleigh Environmental Action Team and the Suffolk Tree Warden Network taking part in this important networking event.
“By bringing everyone together, we hope to share knowledge and experience on how we can make our communities more sustainable. As the event is open to all community groups, including town and parish councils in the district, we’re encouraging people to book their places as soon as possible.”
