EDF Energy's Sizewell C stage 1 consultation

The stage 1 consultation began on 21 November 2012 and ran until 6 February 2013.

Since February 2013, the councils have been working jointly in a number of areas:

• We commissioned a report to review the traffic impacts of EDF’s Sizewell C proposals on the A12 Woodbridge to Lowestoft route through the villages of Marlesford, Little Glemham, Stratford St Andrew and Farnham, which backed up the case for a bypass of the villages.
• We commissioned a report to look at route options for the A12  in December 2013.
• We responded to EDF’s scoping report for the Environmental Impact Assessment in May 2014 (the Secretary of State’s opinion on the scoping report is available on the National Infrastructure Planning website.
• We developed a number of principles relating to ecology, access, design and managing the Sizewell estate.
• We had input to the Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) evidence plan published in October 2014.
• We met with local campaigners for the four-villages bypass in January 2015.
• We commissioned a report looking at options for the B1122.
• We wrote to the Secretary of State for Transport seeking additional financial support for a four-villages bypass

EDF Energy's Sizewell C stage 2 consultation

The stage 2 consultation ran from 23 November 2016 to 3 February 2017.

The joint draft stage 2 consultation response was put before Cabinet on 31 January 2017:

Cabinet meetings on 31 January approved the recommendations and response to EDF Energy, and this was sent to EDF Energy on 2017 February:

EDF Energy's Sizewell C stage 3 consultation

The stage 3 consultation ran from 4 January to 29 March 2019.

East Suffolk Council and Suffolk County Council took their draft response to their respective Cabinets on 11 and 12 March 2019 (full details are available on EDF's Sizewell C Project Website):

EDF Energy's Sizewell C stage 4 consultation

The stage 4 consultation was held between 18 July to 27 September 2019.

East Suffolk Council and Suffolk County Council took their draft responses to their respective cabinets on 23 and 24 September 2019 (full details are available from the EDF Sizewell C Project Website):
