Suffolk County Council Electoral Review

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has recently carried out an electoral review of Suffolk Council.

The aim of the review was to create division boundaries that resulted in each councillor representing approximately the same number of voters.

The LGBCE also aims to ensure that the division boundaries reflect the interests and identities of local communities, as well as promoting effective local government.

To achieve these aims, the division boundaries across Suffolk were re-drawn.

Final Recommendations

On 7 September 2021, the final recommendations for the electoral review for Suffolk County Council were published.

Suffolk will be represented by 70 County councillors.

As a result of the new warding arrangements, the LGBCE is making changes to the parish electoral arrangements for the following parish and town councils:

  • Felixstowe Town Council
  • Haverhill Town Council
  • Kesgrave Town Council
  • Lowestoft Town Council
  • Melton Parish Council
  • Oulton Broad Parish Council
  • Stowmarket Town Council

Full details and maps have been published on the Local Government Boundary Commission for England website.
