  • Deed of Obligation

    On the 8 October 2021, East Suffolk Council, Suffolk County Council and NNB Generation Company (SZC) Limited entered into a Deed of Obligation (DoO) pursuant to section 1 of the Localism Act 2011 and section 111 of the Local government Act 1972. The DoO related to all aspects of the Sizewell C project, however since the signing of the DoO, two Deed of Variations have been signed (13 April 2022 and 6 May 2022) which amend specific aspects of the original Deed.

  • Section 106 planning obligations (S106)

    Section 106 or s106 Agreements (also known as Planning Obligations) are made by deed under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and are similar to covenants. They allow a local planning authority to enter into a legally-binding agreement with a landowner or developer to provide something or to restrict the use of a development. They relate to a person's land, binding whoever owns it and the obligation becomes a land charge.
