  • Rural England Prosperity Fund

    The Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF) aims to improve productivity and strengthen the rural economy and rural communities. The REPF is a top-up to and complementary to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and succeeds EU funding from LEADER and the Growth Programme which were part of the Rural Development Programme for England. To drawdown the funding, an addendum to the UKSPF Investment Plan was submitted to Government on 30 November 2022 by East Suffolk Council. The submitted and approved addendum identified the challenges and opportunities for the East Suffolk's rural businesses and communities through data driven evidence and stakeholder consultation to shape our priorities for REPF funding.

    Why was a survey undertaken?

    The project originated in response to the 1992 Rio Earth Summit whereby those 170 + countries attending agreed to set up benchmarks for their identified priority issues in the areas of flora, fauna, landscape and habitat as part of their Local Agenda 21. In England and Wales this became the responsibility of local authorities.

  • Stratford St Andrew AQMA - Revoked

    History

    In 2011 East Suffolk Council began monitoring for the air pollutant nitrogen dioxide (from vehicle exhausts) on the A12 at Little Glemham, Farnham and Stratford St. Andrew. The results indicated that the site at Stratford St. Andrew (Long Row, The Street), measuring an annual mean NO2 concentration of 43.3µg/m3, was above the national Air Quality Strategy (AQS) objective – set at 40µg/m3. Additional monitoring was undertaken on the A12 in Stratford St. Andrew which confirmed the exceedance at Long Row. All other locations monitored on the A12 were within the AQS objective.
