Local communities to benefit from funding boost
Voluntary and community groups in Carlton Colville, Kessingland, Southwold and surrounding villages are set to benefit as Community Partnership has opened a third round of funding scheme.
The Carlton Colville, Kessingland, Southwold and Surrounding Villages Community Partnership launched its Small Grant Scheme in December 2020, followed by a second round in May 2021.
The Partnership has now confirmed a third round will open on 31 August, meaning local voluntary and community groups can once again apply for much-needed funding.
The scheme is aimed at tackling social isolation and loneliness and improving the services available to young people, two of the priorities identified by the Partnership and may support groups and organisations who will be facing challenges post lockdown.
Funding will be available for projects which addresses these and can include activities that can help individuals, groups and families or benefit the wider community, either as a one off or as a series of activities/events, purchasing equipment to support community activity and targeted projects which addresses specific needs linked to the priorities set by the Partnership.
Cllr Jenny Ceresa, Chair of the Partnership, said: “I am really pleased to launch the third round of our Small Grant Scheme to local community and voluntary groups. The scheme is aimed at helping these local groups deliver a ranger of projects, activities and services to our communities which tackles the priorities set out by the Partnership to improve and enhance the lives of local residents.”
The scheme, which will be open for applications from 31 August till 5 October, will offer grants of up to £1,500.
