Two periods of consultation were undertaken on the Charging Schedule before it was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination.

The Council approved the Community Infrastructure Levy Charging Schedule on 22nd May 2013.

The examination was conducted by written representations. The Council received the Examiner's Report into its Draft Charging Schedule on 11th April 2013. The Examiner concluded that the Charging Schedule provides an appropriate basis for the collection of the levy in the District and recommended approval of the Charging Schedule without any further changes. The Draft Charging Schedule was submitted on 14th December 2012 for independent examination. Mike Moore BA(HONS) MRTPI CMILT MCIHT from the Planning Inspectorate was appointed to conduct the examination.
