Joint Local Authority Group

JLAG is currently on hiatus

Cllr Craig Rivett, Chairman, ESC and Cllr Richard Rout, Deputy Chairman, SCC have agreed that the Joint Local Authority Group, JLAG, will not currently meet virtually or in-person.

The Group primarily meets to discuss Sizewell C which is currently post-examination, awaiting a final decision from the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy. This decision will be reviewed by the Chair, Vice-Chair or their successors on a quarterly basis.

November 2021.

In January 2012 the Joint Local Authority Group (JLAG) was established, in order to facilitate a joint local authority approach to the challenges and opportunities that will result from the construction and operation of the proposed new, Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station.

  • JLAG terms of reference

The group consists of Cabinet and locality members from both the District Council and Council. Local MPs have also been invited to attend as observers. The Chair and Vice-Chair of JLAG issue Sizewell C monthly updates for county councillors, district councillors, plus town and parish councils, on a monthly basis.
