Beach huts and chalets
Beach huts at Felixstowe
The council has over 900 sites for private beach huts in Felixstowe and these are in high demand. There may be opportunity to purchase a new hut and licence a site in the future (contact us to register your interest) but second-hand huts can be purchased privately throughout the year and an application for a new licence made by the new owner.

Get involved (doing your bit)
We are working to meet the challenge of reducing airborne pollutants PM2.5, PM10 and NO2 set by the Government, but success will also require a concerted public effort with each person doing their bit by active travel planning and reducing the reliance on the motor car for travel. This will have other additional benefits as participants will be fitter and healthier by choosing to walk or cycle more regularly and, of course, increased enjoyment of the wonderful East Suffolk landscape.

Electrical waste

To help recycle even more, residents will soon be able to recycle their small electrical items from home through new electrical kerbside collections beginning in November. Collections will be rolled out across the district between November and May 2025 - look out for a leaflet advising when collections will begin in your area.
