  • Deed of Obligation

    On the 8 October 2021, East Suffolk Council, Suffolk County Council and NNB Generation Company (SZC) Limited entered into a Deed of Obligation (DoO) pursuant to section 1 of the Localism Act 2011 and section 111 of the Local government Act 1972. The DoO related to all aspects of the Sizewell C project, however since the signing of the DoO, two Deed of Variations have been signed (13 April 2022 and 6 May 2022) which amend specific aspects of the original Deed.

    The Environmental Guidance Note has been produced to support the positive environmental vison of the council and in response to the climate emergency as recognised by the council in 2019. The guidance note supports the council’s vision of building the right environment for East Suffolk, as well as the council’s ambitions to become a carbon neutral council and work with others to make Suffolk as a whole carbon neutral by 2030.
