Most licensed premises are well run and benefit their local community, and the majority of licensees provide a professional service. However, problems may happen from time to time for a variety of reasons.
If you are being adversely affected by the operation of a licence or by a licensed activity you should, where possible, try and discuss the matter with the licence holder. That person may not be aware there is a problem and many local difficulties can be sorted out quickly and amicably by talking.
Please note that we only suggest you approach whoever seems to be responsible for a problem if you feel comfortable and safe doing so.
If an informal discussion is not possible, or does not resolve the problem, you should consider making a formal complaint.

Anonymous complaints are more difficult for us to properly investigate and understand the complaint, and to provide an appropriate response. We may record and investigate anonymous complaints, but we do encourage people to give us their names and addresses so we can report back to them.
