Stage One of the Lloyd’s Tour of Britain Men cycle race takes place in East Suffolk on Tuesday 2 September, departing from Woodbridge and finishing in Southwold.
To ensure race safety, it will be necessary to close some roads, and to suspend parking in some of the towns and villages on the route.
Letters have been delivered to all houses and businesses along the route which may be affected by road closures or parking suspensions. Signs are also in place in areas where on-street parking restrictions will apply for the event and ‘no waiting’ cones will be put in position on Monday 1 September. Residents and visitors are asked to remove their vehicles from these areas before restrictions apply.
To minimise inconvenience, cones will be removed, and restrictions will be lifted as soon as possible after the race has passed through.
There will also be a rolling road closure in operation across the route for around 15 minutes before the estimated time of arrival until approximately 10 minutes after the last rider has passed.
