Home Alarm

Due to the significant investment required in new technology following the national digital switch-over next January, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the current home alarm service in East Suffolk.

The decision to decommission the service has not been taken lightly and follows extensive discussions with our partners and service provider. We are writing to all our customers advising them to find a new supplier if they wish to continue having a home alarm service.

We understand that the change will cause service users inconvenience as existing alarms will no longer work on the new fibre system. We will be offering support through the transition by providing information on the digital switchover and alternative personal alarm suppliers.

If you have any questions, please call our dedicated Customer Services team on 03330 162 000 or email us at customerservices@eastsuffolk.gov.uk.

24 hour help, 365 days a year

The personal alarm is a button worn around the wrist or neck by those who may live alone, or are sometimes alone, and who may be vulnerable or isolated.

Pressing the button calls our Lowestoft based call centre where friendly call handlers, who know the local area, assess your need and contact any nominated individuals to attend.

For medical emergencies you should always call 999 directly to avoid delay. We can call emergency services for you, but it is their preference that they talk directly with you, or someone with you, where possible.

This low cost service, which is provided on behalf of East Suffolk Council, helps give you peace of mind and may also help you maintain your independence by remaining in your own home for longer.

For further information, please contact the Home Alarm Service operated by East Suffolk Services Ltd.
