Housing Officers

The council has Housing Officers and Rent Officers, that look after all our council housing. Officers cover patches so your officer is linked to your address.

  • Use our Housing Officer directory to find the Housing or Rent Officer for your road

As well as taking repair reports, collecting rents and other payments, managing rent arrears and dealing with breaches of the tenancy agreement; officers can advise on a number of other issues including:

  • moving home
  • tenancy support
  • alterations/improvements to council property (including external alterations)
  • adaptations for persons with disabilities
  • assigning council tenancies to more than one person
  • succeeding deceased tenants on their death
  • getting involved with local tenant and resident groups
  • rent and arrears advice and help
  • neighbour nuisance, or any form of anti social behaviour or harassment
  • general estate advice and tenancy advice

Our Housing Officers can be contacted by phone or email or via our online service for tenants, myHome East Suffolk. Housing Officers spend a large amount of their time out of the office working in their areas. If you ring, and your officer is unavailable, our dedicated call centre will take a message and an officer will get back to you within five working days of your call. If your call is an emergency we will of course deal with it straight away.
