Tenant engagement

East Suffolk Council is committed to enhancing our services and strengthening relationships with our tenants.

Our goal is to provide tenants with meaningful opportunities to participate in shaping the housing services we deliver. This includes helping to develop policies and services that reflect their expectations and needs.

We value your input in housing services because your voice matters. Your involvement is essential in shaping the services you receive.  For us, tenant engagement is key to ensuring our services effectively align with your requirements.

Our Tenant Engagement Strategy 2024 -2027 reflects East Suffolk Council’s commitment to creating vibrant, inclusive communities. At the heart of this strategy is a focus on meaningful interactions, transparency, and collaborative decision making with our tenants. We aim to bridge gaps, embrace diverse perspectives, and empower every voice within our community.

We believe that every tenant’s voice matters, and we invite you to get involved – in a way that suits you. Whether you want to share feedback, join discussions or take a more active role in decision making, there are plenty of ways to participate. Even a small contribution, like attending a meeting or filling out a survey, can make a big difference. Get involved today and help us create better services for everyone.

Do you want to help shape the services in your community? Have you got ideas to make things better for you and your neighbours? Then have your say and join our Tenant Engagement Group!

What is a Tenant Engagement Group?

A small group of tenants who meet regularly to represent the views of others living in East Suffolk Council homes. You will share views, give feedback, and help influence decisions about our homes and services. The group will serve as a vital link between the community and the council, enhancing tenant representation and participation in local governance.

What topics will the Tenant Engagement Group cover?

You will take part in meetings where you can discuss services, give feedback, and help shape future plans. It’s a real chance to have your voice heard and speak up on behalf of other tenants. Topics will include, but are not limited to:

  • Improving communication between tenants and the council
  • Raising issues and suggesting ideas to improve housing
  • Promoting community spirit and engagement

Why should I get involved?

Joining our Tenant Engagement Group will provide you with a real opportunity to make a difference to your local area and the services that East Suffolk Council provides, benefiting you and your community. You will also:

  • Meet new people and be part of something positive
  • Build new skills and gain experience in areas like communication, teamwork, leadership, and decision making.  All great skills you can use in everyday life, volunteering, or even future job opportunities.

It doesn’t matter if you haven’t done anything like this before, full support and guidance will be provided by our Tenant Engagement Officers who are excited to work with you to make a positive difference.
