Westerfield Neighbourhood Plan was prepared by Westerfield Parish Council following consultation with the local community and is used alongside the Local Plan when making decisions on planning applications in the area.
Westerfield Neighbourhood Plan was formally ‘Made’ by East Suffolk on 19 May 2025.
The Neighbourhood Plan and other supporting documents can be viewed at Kesgrave Library, Kays Close, Kesgrave, IP5 2HL and East Suffolk Council Customer Service Centre, Woodbridge Library, New Street, Woodbridge, IP12 1TD (during opening hours).
A referendum was held on Thursday 15 May 2025. Of the people who voted, 96% voted in favour of the Westerfield Neighbourhood Plan.
The examination of the Westerfield Neighbourhood Plan was carried out by independent examiner Andrew Ashcroft.
Westerfield Parish Council submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to East Suffolk Council ahead of it being submitted for independent examination. East Suffolk Council publicised the plan and invited representations between 21 August and 9 October 2024. Consultation notice.
Consultation on the Draft Westerfield Neighbourhood Plan (Regulation 14 Pre-Submission) ends on 19 January 2024.
The first stage was to designate the 'Neighbourhood Area' – the geographical area the plan will cover.
